Thomas Bannister launched Stovely in 2017 to offer a range of specialised chimney sweep and repair services to the solid-fuel appliance owners of Oxfordshire. He was first introduced to the inner workings of woodburning stoves during his time assisting a HETAS certified installer, where he discovered an affinity for the physical, problem solving work. 

 

Since completing the APICS training and earning his professional certification as a HETAS Approved Sweep and Service Technician, Thomas has worked on hundreds, if not thousands,

of stoves across Oxfordshire. 

 

Stovely tackles all aspects of sweeping, whether it’s an annual visit, a pre-installation sweep, or servicing and repairing. Our bird nest removal and CCTV inspection means we can ensure every chimney is operating at maximum efficiency and safety. 

 

In 2024, Stovely reached an excited milestone when Thomas was able to bring in a second member of staff for the very first time; his daughter, Edith.
